这首《暗夜之子》是理查德·马尔克斯第二张专辑《再犯》（1990年）的第六首、也是最后一首打榜单曲，在《公告牌杂志》排行榜上最高冲到第13名。此曲是为支持洛杉矶的一个救助市郊街头流浪儿童的组织所写。
