ChillWave寒潮是电音的一种类型，通常是指使用大量的合成音效，做出一种比一般电音更加飘逸更加绵延不绝的音乐类型。很多音乐人遵循DIY精神，用一些简单的合成器等设备，用低保真的方式制作出了一些作品并加上一些回声音效制造出一种弛放梦幻的氛围。而其中很多作品也有梦幻流行、阳光流行、迷幻流行的味道。寒潮类音乐从本质上给人的感觉就像是平躺在夜的沙滩上，浅蓝夜空绽放的迷人暖色，而冰冷的海水却阵阵涌来，让人透骨冰凉。
